The last couple of years have been great for IKEA, but they are ready to step up their game. According to Fast Company Reports, 936 million shoppers visited IKEA’s physical stores last year, but their online business had 2.3 billion virtual visits (yes, BILLION).
That’s why in an effort to continue growing exponentially in this field, IKEA has been investing in developing an app for augmented and virtual reality. This idea has the purpose of helping customers explore how furniture and other products would look like in their homes, without even having to get out of their houses.
IKEA said that this innovative plan is still in the process of consolidation and it would all depend of how well and how much the app would enhance customers’ experiences.
